0 Be Aware of Sun Damage

July is UV Safety Month; a time to be aware of the damage the sun can do without proper protection. Choosing the right kind of sunscreen is sometimes difficult; it is like choosing an over- the- counter medication. You want the product to stand by its claims and deliver the results, but with so many different ones on the market, how do you choose? The FDA has now called for changes to sunscreen with stricter testing on the sunscreen factors to protect against sunburn, premature skin aging, and most importantly, skin cancer. With more than 2 million Americans diagnosed with skin cancer every year, this change is important. Final regulations, which became effective June 18^th, have established a standard test for sunscreen that will determine which products are allowed to be labeled “Broad-Spectrum”.  The testing and labeling will begin taking place this December.
